Wow! Just where in the world did 2016 go? Really.
This year has been one mondo shit show one after the other. Pardon the language, but nothing really quite summarizes the way the year has ended. Excluding celebrity deaths, to the way the U.S. election was handled and ended. Top it all off, and now the FBI is pointing fingers at the Russians for hacking. Oh. My. Head. Trying to keep this post away from politics is difficult, but manageable. Publishers screwing authors, to ebook retailers doing the same. Talk about DP. Grrr…
Many developments have occurred, and much strife has been to had. My husband lost his mother this spring. We found out we’re going to be grandparents in March. Our youngest is graduating and headed to high school come September. Layoffs continuously plague many industries in Canada, and the restructuring within the organizations my husband and I are affiliated with have built our stress up to an all time high. I’ve launched a bath & beauty line on Etsy, got screwed from a previous publisher, and feel in a minor way I’ve been wronged with the latest one.
All we can do is hope for the best and push onward. We’re not the oracle Pythia and cannot predict what our destinies are, but we can certainly try, and do right by ourselves and take it one day at a time.
From my family to yours, we wish you nothing but the best in 2017. We hope that this new year will bring you hope and much love.
