January came and went in a twister of many emotions and huge accomplishments. Not only was my mojo back, but I completed the first draft of my first historical romance novel and subsequently wrote another first draft of a novella. Two books in one month after a long dry spell of depression kicking my arse.
I think the best part of last month was inspiring others to give dictation a second chance and continued to receive updates as the month went on. My heart swelled with pride and I couldn’t have been happier. For the success in baby steps those individuals were experiencing.
Good news aside, last month had its fair share of losses. I lost a co-worker, the romance community lost Doris O’Connor, and many pets lost last month may have made me weep. What a way to kick off 2019. Guess you have to take the good with the bad huh?
So for this month, I will focus on sending in my first submission to Harlequin Historical, finish edits on a paranormal romance novella, finish the first draft to another novella. Those are my main goals, but there are a few side tasks I’d like to accomplish.
I think it’s safe to say the second half of this year is when the bulk of my releases are happening which is awesome. Better than never releasing them at all.
What am I releasing this year you ask? Great question!
You can expect regency romance novellas and some paranormal romance ones too. If I can swing it, I might even have a contemporary novel, but we shall see how the year progresses.
Well, that’s it for now. Stop by again soon. I have some great posts planned for readers, authors and crafters too. Oops! I should also mention some YouTube videos. Stay tuned on that note.
Much love and gratitude,
Layna
